About Sardinia

Sardinia is a wonderful holiday destination for a short break or longer holiday with a great selection of hotels, villas and apartments, wonderful beaches, stunning scenery and warm friendly people.

Sardinia is a beautiful Italian island, about 120 miles west of the Italian mainland and 10 miles south of Corsica, which can be easily reached with a 2 hour flight from regional airports throughout the UK.

Sardinia is the second biggest Mediterranean island (after Sicily) with over 1000 miles of coastline offering numerous stunning beaches with turquoise sea and a dramatic mountainous interior. Sardinia has something for everyone from the jet-set world famous Costa Smeralda to the contrasting uncommercialised inland towns and deserted beaches in the south. There is a mountainous interior to explore with stunning views over the island, amazing rock formations, lakes and waterfalls and a fascinating history and culture to discover reflected in the archaeology, architecture, traditions and festivals. The cuisine offers a rich repertoire of dishes and local wines, resulting in a combination of flavours and appearance that is unique to Sardinia. The traditional towns and villages offer a great selection of restaurants, pizzerias, gelaterias, shops and markets.

Sardinia is still a relatively undiscovered gem in the heart of the Mediterranean with its own identity and only developed in keeping with the landscape using their own natural products for building and their own locally grown produce for cooking. It takes approximately 3 or 4 hours to drive from the north to the south and about 2 hours from east to west and can be divided into the following areas:

  • The Costa Smeralda and the North East
  • Alghero and the North West
  • The Centre
  • Cagliari and the South
